July 2026 – Apophyllite

Our mineral of the month for July is a rather versatile one. Chemically pure, it would be colourless, but due to impurity atoms
and inclusions, its colour varies from greenish and pink to reddish or, more rarely, bluish.
Its crystal form also varies from elongated to cube-shaped to platy.

Chemical Formula: (K,Na)Ca₄Si₈O₂₀(F,OH) · 8H₂O
